こうなるとSafariの問題だな
いや、話題のiPod touchのお話なんですけどもね。
8GBのフラッシュメモリで36,800円、16GBで48,800円という値段設定もこなれているとは思うんですよ。
iPhoneが登場してすぐにShi3zさんに触らせてもらって堪能したのですが、あのUIにはおもちゃとしてだけでも30,000円くらいの価値はありそうだし。（自分で透明な服を作っちゃう王様、というフレーズを思いついたけどそれはいいとしましてと）
でもって、捕らぬ狸のiPhoneと較べてみると、どう見てもこのiPod touchにはスピーカーとマイクが内蔵されていないようですので、Skype導入して電話代わりにうっひっひ、という使い方は到底無理そうなのがちょっと萎えるところなのです。
USBヘッドセットみたいなものが使えなくはないかも知れませんが個人的な性向からするとまどろっこしくて使わないでしょう。というか電話をかける/かかってくるというのはある意味スクランブル状態なわけですからひっつかんで「はいこちら七曲署」と一挙動でアクセスできなければダメなのですゼッタイ。
となると「16GBで48,800-30,000=18,800円のメディアプレイヤーに意味があるのか俺的に」というお話になるのですが、だいたいiTunesのファイルだけで100GBを超えているわけでそんな大きさでは足りるわけがないのです。
ということで今度は「WiFiが利用できるブラウザーとしてはどうよ」というお話になるのは至極当然のこと。
使用シーンとしてありがちなのは、テレビを見ながら「お、この映画面白そう。TOHOシネマズでプレミアシート予約しようっと」とか、Amazonで本やらCDを買うとか、そういったガジェットとして大活躍なのではないかと。俺的に。
「これなら十二分に買う価値はあるよなぁ」というところで立ちはだかるのは、つまるところはSafariの問題なんですよね。
オンラインバンクとかECサイトではSafariがはじかれることがあまりにも多いわけで、おじさんは意外とのんびり構える性質なので160GBのiPod classicでも買ってSafariの浸透具合を見極めてからにしようかしらと思っております。その間にiPhoneも出るだろうしね。
